See It<\/strong>: Approximately 70 species of haircap mosses cover nearly every part of the globe. Scientific name,\u00a0Polytrichum<\/i>, comes from the ancient Greek\u00a0polys<\/em>, meaning “many”, and thrix<\/em>, meaning “hair”. These tiny samples were along a very humid forested trail in the White Rock Mountain Recreation Area, part of the Ozark National Forest, Arkansas, USA. Shoot It<\/strong>: This shot was using a Canon 7D (crop factor 1.6), Canon EF24-70mm f\/2.8 at 62mm and f\/4, 1\/125 sec, and ISO1000, handheld, on July 1, 2017 at 10:38 AM.\u00a0Basic adjustments were made in Photoshop Lightroom.<\/p>\n
